I have never heard a cover version that outshines the original recording.
Thus, it is a mystery why I did this.
Being me it makes no sense.
I have always enjoyed Marco Corbelli´s work and while all of it is not to my liking there is always something unmistakably special about it.
I really got sucked in by his Mörder Machine project, but the last few years I have been listening a lot more to Atrax Morgue.
Sometimes when I was a bit out of ideas in the studio I would try out some simple drones or synth patches and they kept reminding me of Marco´s work.
His music is often quite stripped down, simple and improvised and that was what I was getting too.
This led to trying to recreate some of my favorite tracks of his.
I was not close to Marco Corbelli, but we were in contact occasionally, trading albums.
He liked my music and I liked his.
I hope he would have liked my interpretations of his work.
