16Pad Noise Terrorist: ZEIT $19.99

Presented in a remarkable 3D-print cover designed by Nicola Bork, this album musically stands out as cutting-edge modern, suited for inducing twitches in the dance floor crowd as well as splitting the listener’s brains proper in due time.

Time passes in moments – and Candy dedicates his 3rd album to the lapse of time, significantly boosting the harder aspects of the 16PAD NOISE TERRORIST sound, oscillating between harder drum’n’bass, drumstep and hard-hitt ng crossbreed style. Again mastered by DJ Hidden, featuring a remix for veteran performer Cristian Vogel and a collaboration track with Lynn aka Enduser, “Zeit” features the input of prolific guests. After the first two 16PNT albums dealt with the subject matter of utopia/dystopia, “Zeit” is inspired by the occupation with transience. Coherently, the sound appears more direct, grounded, and very much in the here and now.

With “Zeit”, Candy has created an authentic tribute to the lapse of time, an appeal to make the best of it – and a highly entertaining album of broken beats along with that.
Released November 2014 on Hands.

Adam-X: IRREFORMABLE 2XLP $26.99

adam has spent nearly a year crafting his latest full length excursion. aptly entitled 'irreformable'. his latest endeavor is sculpted in innovative sound design and mixed in full dynamic range. spanning a theme of diverse styles from start to finish 'irreformable' refuses to reform or conform to commercialism. the term 'all killer no filler' applies here. 'interchanges' opens the album with a crunchy bassline and an array of hi-hats building tension as the track develops. many of the albums tracks are peppered with short vocal samples and spoken phrases which add to the atmosphere and energy as the album develops. we hear this in third track 'binary possession' with its layers of detuned synth noises and whispered adam x vocals and in 'sheer insanity' which is filled with sweeps and noise, combined with an unnerving vocal. title track 'irreformable' comes full of noises reminiscent of a factory boiler room, chugging along to the noise of broken pipes and alarms, backed by an underlying snare drum and repeated spoken phrase. the latter half of the record continues to build on the overall tension and evokes an almost chaotic feel it. irreformable is a refined sounding album that broods with dark energy that twists and turns as adam x takes us on a journey of sound. file under industrialized techno, rhythmic noise , futurism, purism, desolation. 2x12'' vinyl version in picture sleeve.
Released November 2014 on Sonic Groove.

Adam-X: IRREFORMABLE CD $16.99

Aesthetic Perfection: 'TIL DEATH LP $24.99

First-ever Aesthetic Perfection full-length vinyl! Aesthetic Perfection's Daniel Graves is not one to allow himself or his music to stagnate. Every release has shown an artistic growth and a fearless approach to songwriting. The result is something all too rare in music, where an artist has developed a unique, recognizable sound, without falling into the trappings of cliched formulaic songwriting.
Released November 2014 on Artoffact.

Alessandro Cortini: SONNO $15.99

Alessandro Cortini is best known as the lead electronics performer in Nine Inch Nails' live unit. His recordings under his own name have gained prominence in recent years and he has become known as one of the pre-eminent Buchla masters in North America. Cortini makes a surprising departure into the 202 on his debut album for Hospital Productions -- Sonno. Sonno was recorded in hotel rooms, using a Roland MC 202 through a delay pedal, recorded direct, sometimes into a small portable speaker system. "I liked to walk around the room with a handheld recorder to hear where the sequence would sound better, turn on faucets, open doors or windows to see how the ambient sounds would interact with the MC 202/delay/speaker sound. It was very relaxing and liberating to make music this way." The result is a beautifully restrained yet oddly emotive album that's quite distinct from the overly academic approach so often undertaken by hardware-driven devotees. Mastered by Matt Colton.

Ali Campbell: SILHOUETTE $13.49

Silhouette is the new album from Ali Campbell, the legendary voice of UB40 reunited with Astro & Mickey, out October 14th. Recorded in London’s renowned RAK Studios, the album is an inspired mix of freshly-minted new songs and sparkling, reggaefied cover versions of classics by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Chi-Lites and others. The title track, Silhouette was originally a 1957 hit for the American doo-wop group The Rays, though this new, yearning take, owes more to an early 1970s version by the crown prince of reggae, the late Dennis Brown.

Alter Der Ruine: I WILL REMEMBER $15.99

On this album, the trio continues to evolve and develop, opening new doors and kicking them down when needed, especially if a door is stubborn or weather-warped. They are not of the shy persuasion, be it on stage or in their remixes, consciously choosing not to repeat themselves, but to expand like a swelled gut over a cinched waist-belt. Their eyes are always on the horizon, chasing a sun they will never let fall.

Angst: TAR NER SKYLTEN $18.99

Henrik Björkk strong leading frontfigure of legendary oldschool swedish EBM act Pouppée Fabrikk is back with his new project ANGST. Asp: PER ASPERA AD ASPERA (2CD BOX) $25.99

This anthology is bacchanaly beautiful like a Gothic Novel of the 19th century and clad in a magnificent folio. Two records share a total duration of almost 160 minutes – well, a look at the first 15 years certainly takes some time. Despite its potential for haunting melodies, this collection of musical short stories is not to be seen as your ordinary best of, but more as a blend of some of ASP's most prominent pieces of musical poetry.

Axiome: SMELL OF LAVA IN THE MORNING, THE $14.99

with their seventh release 'the smell of lava in the morning', axiome are back in full swing and present an album that integrates a wide span of styles and moods melted into an expansive and coherent flow of energy, just like lava after a volcanic erruption. well-structured and tightly produced, the ten tracks carry an energizing idm / braindance and acid hybrid featuring accentuated sequencer lines and synth pads underlaid with complex hypnotic rhythm textures keeping the pulse flickering constantly. a good and catchy yet challenging album, distracting and dissecting the senses with its forced density and organized deconstruction. not exactly destined for the dancefloor, but still making you move, 'the smell of lava in the morning' is highly recommendable to lovers of contemporary beat-driven electronic music.
Released October 2014 on Ant-Zen.

Bella Morte: EXORCISMS $13.49

Bella Morte has returned with Exorcisms, the long awaited follow up to Before The Flood. The new album sees huge growth for the band, musically and thematically. The listener gets the sense that vocalist Andy Deane is purging himself of something, be it sorrow, loss, love. The mournful remembrances of Reflections, the declarations of the title track to let go of what was, even the cover of Depeche Mode’s classic Never Let Me Down, all serve to illustrate this overarching sense of lament. As Deane sings in the title track, Exorcisms, see Bella Morte 'burn what has been'

Bella Morte: EXORCISMS LP $18.99

Binary Park: SINGULARITY $16.99

about two years ago 'binary park' did debut with their well received album 'worlds collide'. followed by the 'e.p.' 'the deviated' the band managed to establish themselves as a fine electronic artist within the independent scene. concerts such as 'wave gotik treffen', 'nordstern festival', 'summer darkness', 'planet myer day', 'nocturnal cultre night or 'electronic dance art festival' as well as various remixes for artists like haujobb, torul, suicide commando or pankow did follow and kept the band busy. in early 2014 the recording for the new long player 'singulary' did start. the final result is a 14 track electronic masterpiece.t he 'charming' voice of singer 'huw jones' finds it’s way directly into your ears! quite spherical songs like 'empty frame' or 'mute' shuffle with club tracks such as 'mental interference' or 'she’s insane' followed by 'mid-tempo' songs in the vein of 'unforgiven' and 'stormchaser'. a thrilling collaboration with daniel myer (of haujobb fame) results with the song 'humans' which truly is another highlight of the album! a great new electronic album worth waiting for!

Birthday Massacre, The: SUPERSTITION $13.49

Metropolis Records is proud to present Superstition, the new album from The Birthday Massacre. The album is everything that you would expect of The Birthday Massacre, and so much more. As the band gets further along on its artistic journey, they are putting a fine point on all of the unique qualities that we have all come to expect from The Birthday Massacre. The band has progressed and matured, developing its musical style into a finely honed signature sound. Superstition is elements of band’s entire career up until this point, from the sounds of Nothing and Nowhere, Violet, all the way through to Hide and Seek fully realized. The album feels cinematic in approach, with the first trio of songs, Divide, Diaries, and the title track seeming to set the thematic scene before Destroyer, with it’s driving rhythms burns it all down. In the wake of all of this, Surrender gives the listener a brief moment of quiet, just breaths in the silence, before launching into perhaps one of the album’s most personal sounding, intimate tracks. Chibi’s vocals have always been an instrument integral to the sound of The Birthday Massacre, but never has it been more apparent than in Surrender. As she seems to invite you further into their world the bouncing, uptempo, Oceana and the dramatic Rain highlight all the elements of what make The Birthday Massacre such a unique band. Rainbow and Falcore’s songwriting are in top form, as the duo uses the band’s signature elements to masterfully create emotional gravity within the songs. This is especially evident in Beyond, as the heavy guitar work and solos interplay with the lighter atmospherics of the keyboards and electronic elements, as well as in The Other Side, as the bass guitar and crunching drop-tuned guitars shine. All in all, Superstition is the finest album The Birthday Massacre has recorded to date.

Clan of Xymox: SUBSEQUENT PLEASURES MLP $19.99

Xymox, later known as Clan of Xymox, was founded in Nijmegen, a city in the east of the Netherlands, in 1983 by Ronny Moorings (Vocals, Guitars, Synthesizers) and Anka Wolbert (Vocals, Bass). Ronny saved up to buy a TEAC 144 four-track tape recorder and the duo relocated to Amsterdam in April of 1983. They began to record songs utilizing a Yamaha CS-15, Korg MS-10 and MS-20, a BOSS Dr. Rhythm DR-55, guitar and effects pedals. Layering drone-like tones of monophonic synthesizers over tape loops, rhythm tracks, guitar, and bass, they created a unique fusion of lush psychedelia and dark, angular atmospherics. The result was a 5-song EP, “Subsequent Pleasures”, was released in 1984 and limited to 500 vinyl copies. It was a precursor to the dark wave sounds of their self-titled debut LP on 4AD Records, which was released the following year. At the time, Anka was designing silk-screened posters for a music venue called Oktopus. She based the sleeve design on a drawing she had done of Ronny lying in the grass that summer and used some cutouts and details of other photos. Today, the record is highly sought after by collectors. One song from the EP, “Muscoviet Musquito”, was later re-recorded for the compilation album “Lonely Is An Eyesore” released by 4AD in 1987.

All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. All jackets have been silk-screened with pink and grey paint, using the original plates Anka created in 1984. Each copy includes a fold-out pink newsprint poster with never before seen photos of the band, lyrics and liner notes by Anka and Ronny. See the colors and waves in this deluxe 30th anniversary edition of a classic piece of Dutch history.

Cocteau Twins: STARS AND TOPSOIL 2XLP $25.99

In the awkwardness meter, The Cocteau Twins land somewhere a bit more awkward than Kate Bush but ions cooler than Enya. It's the stuff you only listen to in private unless you're a real hot alternative chick with holes in her striped stockings. Checkout "Carolyn's Fingers" and you'll know right away if you're a Cocteau fan or not. Personally, I
love this weird shit... it's ethereal and entrancing... the melodies sink into your subconscious and weave themselves into your mind matter. The wiki mentions something about "mouth music"... weird. I don't have to sell this to fans: it's a 18 track comp of their prime years (1982-90) pressed in deluxe 4AD packaging.

Coph Nia: PRELUDE TO LASHTAL LACE, A LP $17.99

before appearing on raubbau with a long-awaited full length album, coph nia mastermind mikael aldén serves us a scrumptious appetizer on a 12'' plate: one outtake, a radical remix and two b-sides are a classic satiable ep size serving for the vinyl gourmet. first up is the album's title track, a homage to coph nia's ongoing fascination with crowleyan matters, an enchanting dark folk hymn in which the female backing vocals swell on slowly, before, after a moody break, the song plunges into full-on hazlewood / sinatra-style psychedelia. 'mother of songs' is a lesser known original, here as a slowly grinding goth tune with angelic choirs, while joy division's 'in a lonely place' is an undisputed classic, stripped to an even bleaker carcass of despair in the unique coph nia style. finally, michael idehall's version of 'lashtal lace' replaces everything female, acoustic and romantic about the song with haunting atmosphere and industrial darkness. appease your appetite quickly, the serving is scarce!
Released November 2014 on Raubbau.

Sulphur-Tarot-Garden is a new soundtrack album by Cyclobe, recorded to accompany three alchemical dream pieces by the filmmaker Derek Jarman. Originally shot between 1972 and 1978 on silent Super-8, the films were recently premiered with their new soundtracks at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London. Brown and Thrower were previously members of the sidereal musick group, Coil.

Cyclobe: VISITORS, THE 2XLP $27.99

The Visitors, Cyclobe's second album, was originally released in 2001. Its complex alien sound-world established them as purveyors of an immersive and phantasmagoric music like no other. York. Formed in 1999 by Ossian Brown and Stephen Thrower, Cyclobe have released five albums to date: Luminous Darkness, The Visitors, Paraparaparalellogrammatica, Wounded Galaxies Tap at The Window and Sulphur-Tarot-Garden. Cyferdyne: KEEP YOUR SILENCE $15.99

The year 2013 saw a sea-change for Cyferdyne, with the departure of previous programmer, producer, and co-vocalist Niall Robertson and the recruitment of local Lancaster-based Ritual Noise DJ Andy McBain. Any doubts one might harbor about how this might impact Cyferdyne s sound should be swiftly and firmly laid to rest by the assured and powerful production of their exceptional second album, Keep Your Silence. Written by the original line-up including Niall, and recorded and produced by the new line-up, Keep Your Silence demonstrates the depth of development in both sound and songwriting one would expect from a second album, straddling the line between satisfying fans of the band s debut Genesys and those seeking something more.

David Alexander Hess: LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT O.S.T. LP $28.99

David Hess was the textbook musical ''all-arounder.'' On top of his early success penning top hits for Elvis and Conway Twitty, Hess was a record label executive, actor, and composer. With Wes Craven's Last House On The Left, Hess took on the dual roles of actor and soundtrack composer, playing the monstrous serial killer Krug Stilo and writing the deceptively beautiful soundtrack music that serves as stark counterpoint to the harrowing subject matter. Hess would go on to appear in more mainstream roles in The A-Team, Knight Rider, and Craven's Swamp Thing, but to many he will be remembered for his challenging work here.

Initial vinyl pressing limited to 1,400 copies. Extensive liner notes from Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust), Franco Nero (Django Unchained) and more.

Dazzling Malicious: THERAPIE $15.99

pflichtkauf and maschinenfest regular marcus delivers his 5th album in ten years - and returns to the simple and effective approach of the debut: a dozen tracks around the the five-minute-mark, all driven by burly midtempo beats, a rigid structure like the bridge’s stopes on the grey cover. what puts the stamp on 'therapie' are the trademark psycho sounds and the analogue, 'handmade' feel of the music, giving it a fragile and intimate quality, perfectly relating to dm’s leitmotif of psychotherapy. on 'therapie' marcus discards the dark, song-like structure and the collaborative approach of the predecessor '…is like so' and works all on his own again, the result being quite good news for those who liked his earlier rhythmic works. the twelve tracks are all named 'sitzung' = sessions with the numbering strangely random. the 59 minutes of this album are a perfect example of how a straight rhythmic and ongoing composition can yet grasp the listener’s attention and work on two levels: the aggression never takes the upper hand, so comfortable home listening is never endangered, yet the strength of beats recommends 'therapie' for DJ use, whatever mood fits best. in the end, what convices you is the atmosphere dazzling malicious manages to create, with the sparing use of samples, effective melody lines and a unique, gritty production, sounding as if there was some patina on the music. if you engage in therapie, you might even find some remedy for yourself!
Released November 2014 on Pflichtkauf.

Depeche Mode: SPEAK & SPELL LP $21.99

180 gram black audiophile vinyl packaged in a gatefold sleeve plus inserts and liner notes.

Deutsch Nepal: PZYKADELISCHER TODESWUNCH AUF DEM MASCHINENFEST 2K9 Cassette $12.99

aubbau and pflichtkauf continue their cooperative effort to make available live recordings from the maschinenfest archives. and while there’s little use in an unaltered live presentation of studio material, there’s an important point in viewing into artists who treat their art into something very different on stage. and of that kind, deutsch nepal is surely a prime example: on stage the musician peter andersson disappears and makes room for lina baby doll, the intransigent libertine, the vaudeville villain of post-industrial music. defying boundaries of taste, defying genres and trends, a deutsch nepal performance is always a private revelation. this recording from 2009 consists mainly of tracks from 'a silent siege' and 'erotikon' (the two studio albums deutsch nepal released in the 2000s) plus some live exlusives. there are all the aspects of the deutsch nepal sound to be discovered during these 47 minutes: the ritual drones of 'the torturesofa / saeta', the psychedelic blur of 'stella krutjief / drogentodt', the martial drumming of 'blackhouse', the oppressive noises of 'i just fokos an maiself' (sic!) or 'karkucak', the dark, anthemic beauty of 'heartbomb', the distorted aggression of 'silent siege', and the psychic striptease of 'thiudinassus / deutsch nepal'. the sound is raw and gritty, perfectly communicating the atmosphere of the performer / audience interaction, an extremely organic-sounding compound of electronic sounds and samples; and above all, there’s the subsoil croon of lina’s voice, turning tracks into songs, experiment into heartfelt passion. timeless entertainment, for those inclined…
Released November 2014 on Raubbau.

Don Peake: HILLS HAVE EYES, THE OST LP $27.99

Prolific and multitalented composer, musician & record producer Don Peake wrote the original soundtrack for Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes (1977) where his eerie soundtrack punched up some of the films most unnerving scenes.
One Way Static Records is proud to announce the release of this historical motion picture soundtrack. A truly eerie experimental score that uses natural devices and existing instruments. It's fascinating to know that most of the percussion sounds heard are actually the sounds of the bone & teeth necklaces worn by the actors that are being played like instruments. Not for the faint of heart!
This LP comes packaged in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket w/printed insert & obi and is limited to 1,400 copies.

Electric Six: HUMAN ZOO $13.49

The concept of the “human zoo” has existed in art and literature for centuries, thus Electric Six recognizes and accepts it is not breaking new conceptual ground by naming its tenth studio album Human Zoo. It recognizes and accepts that old ground is being broken. Like teeth.

The first known reference to a human zoo is believed to be from the mid-to-middle 12th century, when the famous Flemish monk Wenslaus De Trappe wrote of his base desires to cage human beings and charge money to display them in humiliating fashion in his classic 14 Trappist Monk Tales. From there, the human zoo concept snowballed and could be found everywhere from Restoration literature (Lord Percy Nutton’s Northumberland Abbey), to Nazi propaganda (Die Mensch Zooiedieschennel) to 20th Century American counterculture (Tal Rosenberg’s 20 Days on Acid – I Am a Pinhole Camera), the last of which where the author famously imprisons his lawyer/traveling companion in a cage and places him at the corner of Haight and Ashbury to stand trial for helping contribute to a bad trip.

Electric Six recognizes the legacy of the human zoo concept and throws its hat into the conceptual milieu with a great deal of respect and humility. We do not seek to define the human zoo, nor do we seek to deconstruct it. We seek to explore it. We seek to expand it. And most of all, we seek to sell it to you.

Electric Six recognizes that when men and women are placed in cages and displayed like animals, a power dynamic is being constructed. The human in the cage has his basic rights discarded, his dignity stripped from him, whereas the human who pays to observe other humans establishes his superiority just by casually standing and watching, choosing to leave whenever he likes. In this same way, Electric Six seeks to put itself on display in such a manner that empowers the listener and debases the band all while making everyone feel like partying.

From the opening track “Karate Lips”, Human Zoo takes the listener immediately into a teenage karate tournament for girls as refereed by Def Leppard. The crunchy guitars hit you in the face like a teenage foot and you immediately remember why you purchased or illegally downloaded this latest Electric Six album.

Like many E6 albums, Human Zoo does not have one defining sound, rather it is a sampler’s plate of the entire history of rock and roll music. Like Motown…now we are doing Motown. “Alone With Your Body” is the feel good necrophilia anthem of the summer and it sees the band embracing this oft overlooked section of our hometown’s musical history.

From there we ramble into the spaghetti-western marching band good times of “Gun Rights”, the triumphant Disnification of “I’ve Seen Rio in Flames”, and into the absurd hip hop of “(Who The Hell Just) Call My Phone”. Thrown in a few classic rockers in “I Need A Restaurant” and “Worst Movie Ever” and you’ve got an E6 album, son!

But it’s not an E6 album until the closer is better than the rest of the record combined. The gorgeous, haunting pop of “The Afterlife” might be the greatest thing the band has ever done. Ever.

Electric Six: HUMAN ZOO LP $18.99

Erasure: VIOLET FLAME 2CD $19.99

Erasure are back with their 16th studio album, The Violet Flame, an emotionally-charged electro-pop album with euphoric, synth-fuelled melodies that strike instantly into the heart. The theme of transformation and new beginnings is captured in the album s title, a literal spiritual term meaning the transformation of negative energy into positive energy, freedom and forgiveness. Erasure enlisted the production expertise of Richard X after their successful collaboration on Snow Globe, and the tracks were recorded between his London studio The Toyshop and by Clarke in his Brooklyn studio.
Limited 2CD version.

Fabio Frizzi: CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD O.S.T. LP $33.99

180gm colored vinyl housed in a 350 GSM jacket with a poster and OBI strip. Featuring all new sleeve notes from composer Fabio Frizzi.

Death Waltz Recording Company have been hard at work exhuming a true classic of horror scoring, and the result stands out like a nail through an eyeball. Directed by gorehound favourite Lucio Fulci, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD's incredible score comes from a true master of ferocious film music, Fabio Frizzi (THE BEYOND, ZOMBI 2), and provides a sonic experience not easily put down. All the ingredients you'd imagine are here: eerie synth lines, horrific violins, and the funkiest bass known to man or zombie - and Frizzi uses them to maximum effect to overwhelm the listener like the hordes of undead they score.

What Frizzi does so easily is make the instruments into weapons to assault your senses, and as such CITY is an intense aural journey, but certainly not one that'll have you reaching for the off switch. The score is mesmerising with some moments of true beauty, not least in the instrumentation. Electric guitar in particular is used wonderfully to provide colour, and both real and electric pianos add a certain foreboding mood to the score. And then there's that portentous male choir, always there in the background, waiting. Like the zombies themselves, it's omnipresent and a symbol of inevitability. And it's inevitable that you will adore CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD.

Contains 17 tracks newly remastered including a previously unreleased cue and an exclusive 10 minute suite of the score recorded live at the Union Chapel in 2013 during Fabio Frizzi's first ever live performance in the UK, included here as a precursor to a full live album coming in the fall of 2014.

Fennesz: BECS $16.99

The last time Fennesz released an album on Austrian label Mego it was 2001 and the name of that release was Endless Summer. Now, in 2014, Editions Mego is extremely proud to release the conceptual follow-up to that landmark of abstract pop. Bécs (pronounced "baeetch") is Hungarian for "Vienna" and is the first full-length Fennesz solo release since 2008's Black Sea (TO 076CD/LP). Eschewing the more drone-oriented works of Black Sea, Bécs returns to the more florid pop mechanisms as deployed on Endless Summer. "Static Kings" features the extra leverage of Werner Dafeldecker and Martin Brandlmayer, who deploy a range of atmospheric abstract effects to shape a bewitching sound-world. The 10-minute centerpiece "Liminality" (featuring Tony Buck on drums) is classic Fennesz: epic, evocative, beautiful, impossible. "Pallas Athene" creates a sanctuary of hovering beauty which leads into the title-track. Emotional and assured, the track "Bécs" is an astonishing contribution to contemporary pop. "Sav," co-written by Cédric Stevens, (aka Acid Kirk) inhabits a less structural terrain as one enters a forest of small sounds and oblique atmospheres, where on the closing "Paroles," a gentle melody unravels amongst swirls of electronics and fried disruption. Bécs is not just an album or a series of songs, it's a world to inhabit, a landscape ripe with sounds, songs and that esteemed Fennesz signature. A singular work by a singular artist. All tracks by Christian Fennesz, except *by Cédric Stevens & Christian Fennesz. Modular Synthesizer on "Sav" by Cédric Stevens. Bass on "Static Kings" by Werner Dafeldecker. Drums on "Static Kings" by Martin Brandlmayr. Drums on "Liminality" by Tony Buck. Recorded & mixed at Amann Studios, Vienna, 2013/2014. Tony Buck's drums recorded by Martin Siewert at Garnison7, Vienna, July 2013. Mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin, February 2014. Cover design by Tina Frank.

Gjoll: TEMPORARY SYMBIOSIS: GJOLL AT MASCHINENFEST 2009 Cassette $12.99

Raubbau proudly presents gjöll's performance at the maschinenfest 2009. crystal clear and of stunning quality, the recordings of their minimalistic arrangements are nowhere short of intensity. straight from the start, we sense the full meaning of a temporary symbiosis: of dark and light, of cold and warm, of artist and audience. organic drum sounds carry the heavy drones and are enriched with guitar chords, distorted or echoing over the vocals with endless depth generated by delays. we float through beauty of northern simplicity. a beauty one can only experience when there is nothing left to lose: after one has abandoned all hope. this release is more than a mere blast from the past. it is a recreation of an appeal - to act, to realize, and to understand that there is no one but ourselfes to change our lives. rewind, relax, enjoy - from the first track 'inoculation' which has never been released before through the experience of gjöll live on stage.
Released November 2014 on Raubbau.

Goblin: PROFONDO ROSSO O.S.T. LP $37.99

Known in the U.S. as Deep Red & starring David Hemming, this original soundtrack for the 1975 cult masterpiece by horror director Dario Argento features an intense score, and the album went on to sell
millions of copies. (180 gram HQ vinly in gatefold sleeve).

Goblin: ZOMBI O.S.T. LP $37.99

180 gram vinyl reissue of Goblin's soundtrack to this George Romero/Dario Argento horror masterpiece. In exchange for Dario Argento's help on Dawn of the Dead, George Romero allowed Argento to release a different (more explicit) cut of the movie in Europe. This version was called Zombi. Instead of the library music score that Romero had used, Argento enlisted the help of his pals Goblin to record a new soundtrack. The result is a brilliant score; menacing, thrilling and totally suited to the movie. There's even a sleazy lounge-esque track - Zombi (Supermarket). This is a faithful replica of the original 1978 release, in a new stunning 180 gram audiophile vinyl pressing.

Harm Joy: PAIN DECAY EP $15.99

This EP, includes remixes by NorthBorne (1/3 of Icon of Coil), Ashbury Heights, Preverse and others!. After their extremely well received debut ep ‘Inside Out’, Harm Joy blends little bits of sadness into little bits of happiness, to keep both realistic and interesting. As a vanguard to their upcoming album, "Silver Lining of the Mushroom Cloud" (September), their second EP continues the electro-synth duo's eruption of unique, dark-themed dance music. Like the dichotomy of their name, Harm Joy's lyrics, beats and melodies are at once thoughtful, provocative, comforting, and alarming. Ølåf Å. Reimers is the musical force behind the EBM power-house TYSKE LUDDER and Dan von Hoyel (based in San Francisco) is the lyrical voice behind the Swedish synthpop artists TITANS. With their 1950s fetish influenced, Cold War flavoured EP "Pain Decay," HARM JOY pushes the best influences of industrial, EBM, and symphonic overtones together--and lets them fight it out.
Released August 2014 on 73 Seconds Bismarck.

Harm Joy: SILVER LINING OF THE MUSHROOM CLOUD, THE $19.99

With their debut album, the German-American electro-synth duo HARMJOY embraces the beats of bleeding edge technology and echoes the Cold War aesthetics of 1950s household fetish. Blending the classic and the edgy, the familiar and the fantastical--using both lyrics and music HARM JOY evokes the dichotomy of the word it's based on: Schadenfreude. The duo draws on their symphonic music backgrounds and long histories of involvement in the dark music scene. With music by Ølåf Å. Reimers (originally from Friesland and the composer behind the EBM band TYSKE LUDDER) and vocals/lyrics by Dan von Hoyel (from San Francisco and the voice of the Swedish synthpop artists TITANS), HARM JOY brings a thought-provoking flavour to industrial music. Dance, or listen? Seethe, or reflect? The choice is the listener's. Or is it?
Released November 2014 on Progress Productions.

Inade: AUDIO MYTHOLOGY TWO $13.99

The soul of Eternity has a voice. It has a smile that radiates dreams of ancient origin. Its yawn is vast and perilous: to view it is to sacrifice sanity. Infinite eons have passed through its throat, sometimes latticed with tectonic cosmic rumbles, sometimes threaded with dissonant whispers of devious design.

It is a place where Desolation strangles Hope with withered fingers. The soul of Eternity has a voice. It is pure sound convulsion; it is harsh sound vibration. It speaks through Inade. Though its playground is beyond conception, where space and beyond space merge, the foundation for translation is cultivated here, on Earth, by the Masters of Dark Ambient, Inade. Audio Mythology II collects more loose strands and bleak, back-alley diversions, and gives them life. This is the breath of lost souls as they sigh, of shadows as they break into song, of unimaginable gods as they murmur and scheme.

The saga of Sonic Pioneers continues with the second part of the collection from the archive of INADE´s sound work. This release focusses on re-structured session material (1997-2011), V.A. compilation tracks (2006-2009, partly re-worked) and finalised studio recordings of live backing tracks (2012-2013).

Incite/: LIGHT SPIN $19.99

Following a string of festival appearances and some impressive awards for both their music and visual art, incite/ present their third album for HANDS. Eleven out of the 12 tracks are taken from their recent and their upcoming live sets, wi th the included large 16 pages art booklet - based on their video works - giving you an impression of their awarded skill.

Nevertheless, “light spin” convinces as a musical work on its own, with its arsenal of abrasive sounds and glitches co mposed into surprisingly catchy tunes in the grey area between IDM, electro and industrial. Hard to pigeonhole, easy to enjoy for the electronic connoisseur. Of course you can draw comparisons, to glitch pop, chiptune, IDM or the academic noise sound of Raster-Noton, but incite/ make it something very much of their own. And while there’s of course a range of moods and sounds, from the quiet and subtle (“illusion of safety”) over the noisy and unsettling (“time skating”) to the arcane (“harbour of mystery”), “light spin” appears convincingly coherent.
Released November 2014 on Hands.

Information Society: HELLO WORLD $13.99

The first album of new material from the classic lineup of Information Society (Kurt, Paul and James) in over 20 years. After playing some festival dates in Summer, 2013 the band began to discuss working on a new album and the result, _hello world is the offspring. _hello world is rife with songs that have one foot firmly planted in their past and one foot confidently resting in the present; it is filled with classic INSOC dance floor fodder like ""Get Back"", soaring epics like ""Jonestown"", and cinematic textures like ""Creatures of Light and Darkness"". Embracing the many faces of synthetic music while remaining organically Information Society, _hello world isn't as much a rebirth of INSOC as it is a nuclear-powered version that ups the ante. The first single, ""Land of the Blind,"" is a swirling, propulsive track that hearkens back to their signature sound yet infuses it with state of the art production values. Longtime InSoc hero Gerald V. Casale adds his vocals in a duet with Kurt on their cover of ""Beautiful World"" which adds a modern splash to the Devo classic. The group stormed the club charts in the mid '80s with their Freestyle classic ""Running"". Inspired by the worldwide response to the single, the group seized the opportunity and moved to New York to record their major label debut, Information Society, for Tommy Boy/Reprise. Producer Fred Maher was brought in, fresh from his work on Kraftwerk's Electric Café album, and helped Robb & co. craft a tight pop sound. Initial buzz for the first single ""What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)"" was intense, and proved to be accurate; by the time the group got to its first in-store appearance, two days after the record's release, the album was sold out. 2014 is proving to be quite a year for the band. With history's tendency to repeat itself, it appears INSOC are poised for another takeover. _Hello World, indeed.

Information Society: HELLO WORLD LP $19.99

Isolator: CULTURE & PRINCIPAL OF ANTI-HUMAN EXALTATION $11.99

There’s dark, and then there’s what Isolator create – an abyssal black hole fashioned from pure negativity and concentrated misanthropy, the sounds unraveling like a time lapse film of slow decay and rot, where cascading, shapeless drones meet charred orchestral swells, disembodied voices, ritual undertones, and crushing, blown out disharmonics, all slathered and smeared into a mass of roiling darkness . This is harrowing and bleak to an endless degree and takes desolation and hopelessness to new levels. Featuring members of Father Befouled/Encoffination and Set, the 5 extended tracks signify a vital new entry into the “black noise” genre and fits comfortably amidst its Black Plague brethren DEATHSTENCH, T.O.M.B., and Hypsiphrone, and will also find appeal for those who appreciate the dark drift of early Yen Pox. In 8 panel fold out digipak, lmtd 500 copies.

Jon McCallum: SURF NAZIS MUST DIE O.S.T. LP $28.99

This first ever release of this classic 1987 soundtrack comes pressed on black vinyl and on a few (very few!) randomly inserted copies, on 'blood in the water' vinyl. Packaged in a deluxe old school gatefold tip-on gatefold jacket and containing extensive liner notes by composer Jon McCallum, director Peter George, and various crew members. The artwork was also created by Jon McCallum, and the LP has been mastered for vinyl by Josh Bonati.

This is Strange Disc Records' debut release, the soundtrack to Surf Nazis Must Die. The original film was released in 1987 by Troma Entertainment, but the soundtrack has never seen the light of day until now. Set in a post-apocalyptic future where Neo-Nazi group The Surf Nazis have taken control of the beaches and terrorize anyone who steps foot in their territory. Jon McCallum's score suits the post-apocalyptic setting with heavy synth; fans of Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter's scores will be at home with this record. McCallum is the composer behind Miami Connection, Terror Eyes and Soul Taker. Aside from his composing work he worked on the special effects for Phantasm 2 and George Harrison's Got My Mind Set On You music video.

Keef Baker: DRY $14.99

dry', and the accompanying digital album 'barren', may well be the last ever keef baker releases - a compilation of rarities, remixes and outtakes stretching as far back as before his first album 'the widnes years' and as recent as 2013. 'dry' showcases keef baker’s ability to fuse a range of apparently disparate musical genres in his own unique fashion to create something new and original. drum‘n’bass, industrial, breakcore, trip hop, shoegaze, idm, dubstep, ambient, downtempo, techno and various styles of rock form an innovative amalgam of massive compositional constructions with precise routes and solidity. his skill to touch and to surprise the listener is just tremendous, also as a remixer which is undoubtedly proven by the remixes included here for tonikom, esa and subtractivelad. from melancholic songs, deep electronica tunes and forcing beat tracks up to the catchy industrial/post punk uproar 'jason cheng and his football game', each track displays the level of musical talent keef has in his arsenal. this release will undoubtedly have the genuine baker fans enjoying every minute. there will be a lot more music from the artist keith baker in the future, just with new projects. stay tuned!

Kline Coma Xero: KLINE COMA XERO LP $20.99

Medical Records presents the debut full length release of Kline Coma Xero. A self-titled LP influenced largely by the sterile and isolated iconography of authors such as Philip K. Dick, William Gibson and JG Ballard (from whence the band's name is derived). Formed in 2012, Kline Coma Xero is a group whose work embraces elements of early minimal synth wave with distinctively thoughtful lyrics and evocative melodies. Kline Coma Xero's Tony Williams has had his roots planted in various projects in the past, spanning a realm of styles from experimental noise, tape loops and early industrial. Using a writing style that employs the use of hardware sequencers driving analog instruments rather than computers, Kline Coma Xero produces a uniquely oblique interpretation of past-meets-present in modern electronic music. Kline Coma Xero debuted in 2013 with the track 'Left Behind,' which was included on the Circuit D'Actes 3 La Forme Lente label compilation and is the opening track for this LP. The second track, 'Rewind,' is amazingly catchy and reminiscent of the best hybrid of analog synth pop overlaid with Front 242 style vocals. Other standout tracks are the second side opener 'Mannequins' with its razor sharp lead synths as well as the dark and brooding 'Casualty Ward.' Kline Coma Xero will certainly appeal to fans of analog minimal synth, EBM, and the more melodic side of industrial as well as specific acts such as Fad Gadget, Suicide, John Foxx, or Martial Canterel. Presented on high-quality 180 gram

KMFDM: OUR TIME WILL COME $13.49

Thirty years into the conceptual crusade that is the Ultra Heavy Beat, our fearless Kapt’n K and his collection of cohorts have delivered a bold declaration of unremitting purpose. KMFDM has always been able to bend the lines between techno innovation, punk snarl, metal aggression. Dance beats and crunching guitars carry us through the manifesto that is OUR TIME WILL COME.

With this album We see KMFDM in top form, kicking off the album with the sneering humor of GENAU, where we are given quite the lesson in Deutsch zu sprechen. From there the band rips through the gamut, from the infectious slap bass of SHAKE THE CAGE, the uptempo hallelujahs of SALVATION, the seething menace of BLOOD VS. MONEY, to the battle cry that is the closing track MAKE YOUR STAND, this album proves that even though they call it OUR TIME WILL COME, KMFDM’s time is now.

This edition includes the maxi CD “Incandescent” and the “Live At Sonic Lodge” CD, both originally released in very small numbers only. Now available again in a remastered and polished form. A purging, extreme listening experience that will leave you feeling as
though you’ve just gone over an abandoned area of sonic assaults and monstrously frequency manipulation. ‘Incadescent Sonic Lodge’ is resoundingly bleak and characterized by biting distortion rhythm, with noise-oscillators and disfigured vocal samples floundering around the mix at every turn. This is another claustrophobic soundtrack of Land:Fire with dark atmospheres and fear loaded electronics with deep ambient soundscapes under it´s sonic surface.

Last Dominion Lost: TOWERS OF SILENCE CD $14.99

in mumbai there are a number of brick towers, into which the parsi people of india throw their dead ones, bound for their final journey up to heaven inside the vulture's bellies. this habit of sky burial derives from the zoroastrian cult of ancient iran, where heaven was imagined as a very physical place. the towers, which remind of archaic silos, are called dakhma or in english towers of silence. last dominion lost leave it to the listeners to guess where 'towers of silence', the allegorical title of their new album, really refers to - the fatal nature of physical life? the awkward edges between biological mortality and the idea of an eternal afterlife? the dreadful content which you may find inside what people built up? it's all open. one thing that last dominion lost clearly show is how loud and infernal the silence of ending can be imagined. screams of rage and anxiety intermingle with the shoutings of warriors - if the latter is not rather the croaking of vultures, which gather around corpses - until all is buried under an avalanche of infernal noise. more than 20 years after the recordings for their debut album 'the tyranny of distance' (tesco, 2004), last dominion lost come up with brand-new material recorded between 2012 and 2014, brilliantly mastered by james plotkin in june 2014. besides the core band members jon evans, john murphy (krank, knifeladder, shining vril, ex-spk) and julian percy (ratbag), 'towers of silence' includes guest contributions by ash wednesday (ex-einstürzende neubauten), till brüggemann (gerechtigkeits liga) and annie stubbs among others. packaging: 4-page booklet and traycard in jewel case, limited edition of 300 copies.
Released August 2014 on The Epicurean.

Last Dominion Lost: TOWERS OF SILENCE LP $22.99

Loss: SICK $14.99

with his third album 'sick' the american artist dan fox a.k.a. loss presents a fresh aural facsimile of his feelings, imagination and passion, transmuting pain, sorrow, love and hate into a powerful sonic ride. once again loss proves his ability of working with an impressive selection of sounds and of arranging them with great skill into an authentic image of sonic mastery. throughout these eight lengthy tracks the listener will be captivated by loss' distinguishable manner of composition dispatching a pure, cathartic energy. a broad range of different sound elements like distorted beats, selectively applied samples, a digitalized voice, and even doom metal guitar riffs have been used to generate a striking work of art. dark, poignant ambient electronics, sublime samples and ingredients of primordial industrial music as equitable components produce a very emotive unity, combined and juxtaposed with great care. highly recommended.

Released October 2014 on Ant-Zen.

Martial Canterel: AUSTERTON LP $24.99

Much-needed re-issue of this privately released 2007 album. Martial Canterel's Sean McBride is the progenitor of American cold synth sounds of the 21st century. He began under the moniker Moravagine before he started releasing limited edition cassettes and playing Brooklyn dives as Martial Canterel in 2002. Since then, McBride's bleak intellectual exercises in the dark and danceable have flooded North America and Europe through the frosty fairwaves paved by Pieter Schoolwerth's Wierd Records. With an inimitable minimal style merging bright, urgent melodies ornamented and punctuated by the noises of industry and McBride's sonorous, stern vocals, Martial Canterel's earlier releases (You Today, Refuge Underneath) have garnered both critical acclaim and a rapidly growing rabid fan base. Sean is also one-half of the duo Xeno & Oaklander together with Miss Liz Wendelbo. The album Austerton consists of some of his earliest work recorded in 2003. The ten minimal synth songs on the LP are reminiscent of music by bands like Dark Day, Snowy Red, A Blaze Colour, League Of Nations, etc. Through the collision of a uniquely humanistic means of production via live analog synthcraft expertly paired with vocals and lyrics that reflect the pitfalls and pleasures of our age, Martial Canterel provides a visceral kick best felt on the dancefloor, amidst a flurry of flesh in motion.

Megaptera: NAILED ON VINYL LP $17.99

raubbau is proud to resurrect another legend from beyond the grave. megaptera were (or are?) an infamous death industrial unit from the swedish town of nyköping, led by peter nyström - also known as negru voda, under which he released a 7 inch on the raubbau predecessor, formosan records. megaptera disbanded in 1999, leaving only their cult legacy and some post-mortem re-releases, but now they have risen for the occasion of a benefit compilation on malignant records. from there it was a small step to gather some like-minded artists to support the recording of two brand new tracks and two remixes, featured on this fine piece of vinyl. so embrace these 37 minutes of darkness: 'second recovering' is an all new track, featuring robert c. kozletsky of shock frontier, a hellish brew of dis-torted samples, martial percussion, and ritual wind instruments. texas act steel hook prostheses, who have aptly inherited and defended the death industrial throne from the swedes over the last decade, remix the classic track 'hypnotic fear', adding a contemporary sonic quality while leaving intact the bleak monotony and abject horror of the original. 're-recover' (featuring kristoffer oustad aka kristoffer nyströms orkester) is built from similar elements as 'second recovering', with a result that is more ample, solemn and mysterious. and finally, peter nyström himself remixes another classic megaptera track, 'kingdom of death' a sickening audio document about serial murder, thick, claustrophobic atmospheres and samples that reveal the disturb-ing matter. megaptera appear as strong as ever; purveyors of true darkness, undisputed masters of their craft, and a real treat for genre aficionados!

Released September 2014 on Ant-Zen.

Ministry: LAST TANGO IN PARIS LIVE 2012 2XLP $20.99

Ministry's Last Tangle in Paris documents a time capsule in music history which will never be repeated. In addition to Live Ministry performances, it also embodies rare backstage footage and one-on-one interviews. Ministry founder and front man, Al Jourgensen has no intention to tour Ministry ever again, and thus this documentary is most certainly Jourgensen's last tangle in Paris. The US leg of the DeFiBRilLaTouR was a four-city run in Denver, Los Angeles, New York, with two shows in Chicago. The band then flew to Finland to embark on the seven-week European leg of the DeFiBRiLlaTouR that included festivals and club shows in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Russia. Legendary songs performed on the DVD include Psalm 69 and New World Order. As a special bonus the digipack version will include a Ministry tour retrospective double audio album with live performances dating back to 2006. In early 2014 Jourgensen underwent a closely-monitored detox, and as of this writing is sober and ready to embark on a new chapter in his life.

Ministry: LAST TANGLE IN PARIS LIVE 2012 2CD/DVD $14.99

Mnemonic: RESULT NO.7 $17.99

he 7th album 'result no. 7' is based on an abstract and analogue idea of sound. fragments of emotional sound patterns appear only rarely in this overall rough sounding work. unlike the typical style of mnemonic, themes are focused on their essentials. even if the amount of melodies and variations are reduced significantly, every track is full of enthusiasm and drive. 'result no. 7' is characterized by simplicity and clearness, but it is far away from being a minimalistic or monotone album. overall, the new album combines a wide array of carefully constructed experimental soundscapes and leaves a powerful impression on its listener.

Released November 2014 on Halbsicht.

Muslimgauze: AZZAZIN Reissue $17.99

Shorter than many of Muslimgauze's 1990s albums -- 13 untitled songs over 45 minutes -- Azzazzin, originally released as part of the limited-edition subscription series, feels more like a collection of random experiments than a cohesive piece of work, per se. If not something that would intrigue the casual listener, the hardcore fan will likely find something of interest on the various tracks here. Starting with an extremely minimal opening number -- it's no surprise Finnish experimental duo Pan Sonic are Muslimgauze fans, based on this track -- Azzazzin has a much more electronic feeling than most of Bryn Jones' other albums, eschewing the traditional elements used elsewhere for a rough, quietly aggressive and disturbing feel. Comparisons with Aphex Twin aren't too far off the mark here, but this is still clearly a Muslimgauze release than any sort of rip-off. The fourth track, with its unpredictable keyboard snarls over a low, quiet pulse, and the sixth and seventh songs, with distorted, high-pitched noise tones mixed with a soft series of bass notes and a slight spoken-word interjection from time to time, are some of the strong points from this intriguing release. Beats are used in an extremely limited way throughout Azzazzin, with rhythm, always a key component of Jones' work, more suggested at points by the nature of the keyboard lines than anything else. Closing with an equally minimal track, Azzazzin won't be everyone's cup of tea, but adventuresome listeners will find themselves rewarded.

Muslimgauze: DECEIVER VOL. 3 & 4 2CD $27.99

The original 2CD Deceiver from 1996 is a seminal release in Bryn Jones' sprawling discography, one of the first major ones to really pivot into the noisier/more abrasive side of Jones' sound as Muslimgauze. From its epic, vinyl-side-long title-track down to terse, rhythmic snippets like "A Parsee View," Deceiver set out many of the avenues that Muslimgauze would continue to explore before Jones' death in 1999. Since then, Staalplaat has continued to release the massive back-log of Jones' work, with the nine-disc set Box of Silk and Dogs seeing the release of a third volume of Deceiver. Now, for the first time, that third volume gets a standalone release, paired with the last of the Deceiver tapes. From the brutally curtailed loops and distorted beats of "100 Great Turks" to the hypnotically layered percussion and voice duet of "Opulent Baku Cube," to the oddly funky broken beat of "Maharajaganjinna," volume 3 of Deceiver remains an essential listen, one that time has only rendered more contemporary. On this two-disc reissue it is accompanied by the 11 unused remixes that make up Deceiver vol. 4. The second disc here features several intriguing shorter mixes of "Deceiver" itself that emphasize different sides of the track's sound, as well as several other mixes that take Jones' sound in fascinating new directions. The burbling fourth mix sounds like nothing less than the cousin of some of Astral Social Club's friendlier material, and several tracks such as the seventh mix are so quiet and patient they're the closest Muslimgauze ever came to ambient music. The combination makes for a fitting companion to the original Deceiver and a surprisingly good introduction to Jones' work: volume 3 boasts some stellar examples of one of Jones' primary styles as Muslimgauze, and volume 4 gives the curious listener some idea of just how wide-ranging his work could be. Muslimgauze archive series volume twelve. Limited edition of 500.

Muslimgauze: JEBEL TARIQ Reissue $17.99

Jebel Tariq originally appeared in the middle of 2000 as Muslimlim 025, an MP3-only release. It was an extremely well-received release and has been much requested since. Here at last is the CD reissue of this excellent album. It has strong hand drum beats throughout but still maintains a very moody feel. It was undoubtedly these very elements that led Jeremy Keens to state it was "balanced between the ambient and beat sides" of Bryn's work. It goes beyond just these elements, though. There are whispered voices changing to strong ululations, frequent flute "samples" and then the bass. There are parts where the deep throb of the electric bass element gives a very dub feel and then there is the use of acoustic bass -- the latter something very unusual for Bryn, and it adds an almost jazz feel. All of this put together makes this another strong, almost unique release from the incomparable Muslimgauze.

Muslimgauze: SANDTRAFIKAR $17.99

A gentler release than many in the limited edition subscription series, Sandtrafikar fits into the vein of such works as Zul'm and Drugsherpa, with a low-key propulsion balanced against generally downbeat, dark arrangements, all succeeding in conveying a sense of beauty and mystery mixed with a strange, slight dread. The opening title tracks complement each other well, and share similar elements such as a recurrent conversational sample and moody keyboards. The first has a more loping feel in terms of percussion, while the second is driven by a quick electronic beat; both use the bells which have appeared on so many other Muslimgauze recordings over the years. After the minute-long snippet, "God and I," the first "Baku Oil Field" ratchets up the brooding feeling even more: soft machine-like growls and wheezes rise from deep in the mix, with only an occasional bell and brief echoing samples of percussion and string instruments, calling to mind more familiar Muslimgauze works -- until a growth in general intensity at the end. It's quite wonderful, and the similarly-named track which follows continues that flow, with percussion added throughout. Following another brief track, Sandtrafikar concludes with "Remix by the Rootsman," which is indeed the UK dub/dance figure tackling the title song. He comes up with a rough, shuffling bass drone mix that fits in quite well, although he's not simply trying to ape Muslimgauze. It makes for a fine conclusion to one of Bryn Jones' best all-around efforts.

Muslimgauze: UN-USED RE-MIXES 1994-1995 $20.99

"We do not work on a release, a piece is done at a time. A CD is drawn from various tracks which can span a few days, weeks or a month, or a day, each release is different." --Bryn Jones, Grinding Into Emptiness interview, 1998
Not only has Muslimgauze's work survived the death of Bryn Jones, so have his working methods; with so much worthwhile material still in the vaults and much of it having little in the way of information or context left by the artist upon his untimely passing, recent reissues and new releases have seen Staalplaat going largely by the way the working tapes were originally organized. Here we have an excellent example of the perils and rewards of that approach; eight mixes, just over an hour, of some of the dubbiest, most spacious material Jones ever put to tape. The tracks collected on Un-used Re-Mix's 1994-1995, the newest release in Staalplaat's Muslimgauze archive series, are too good to leave collecting dust, but Jones never got around to organizing or even titling them (except, perhaps, inside of his own head). The truly diligent might be able to track down the source for some of these tracks after hours poring over the rest of Muslimgauze's vast discography, but no such trainspotting is needed to appreciate the smeared, haunting vocal and hand percussion of the third track, or the ominously rattling, echoing sixth track, or the heavy organ overlay that brings the last track as close to shoegaze as Muslimgauze ever came. So much of Jones' work evokes the sounds and atmospheres of the Middle East, India, and other points further south than his own Manchester environs; the remixes here bring a bit of that northern chill into the veins of these productions, resulting in an album that sometimes feels like Muslimgauze venturing into outer space. Without the political context that Jones no doubt intended for these tracks, we're left only with the actual sound, a sound that continues to retain its power and striking individuality. Muslimgauze archive series volume 28. Limited edition of 500.

Nine Inch Nails: PRETTY HATE MACHINE LP $15.99

Remastered edition of the 1989 debut album from Trent Reznor and Co. featuring the original tracklisting and artwork. As a young musician in Cleveland, Ohio, Trent Reznor took a job at a local recording studio and employed unused studio time to develop his own material. The nascent album was later recorded with his favorite producers including Flood/Mark Ellis (U2, Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey), John Fryer (Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil), Adrian Sherwood (Ministry, Cabaret Voltaire)
and Keith LeBlanc (Tackhead). The result was Pretty Hate Machine. All songs were written, arranged, programmed and performed by Reznor.

Nurse With Wound: EXCITOTOXICITY $21.99

The third studio album release from Nurse With Wound and Graham Bowers. ExcitoToxicity ... an excess of most things, both mentally and physically, although exciting and pleasurable, can easily accelerate and rapidly become toxic ... on a cellular level, deadly. We have thrown caution to the wind and gone overboard on the quality of the 8-panel digipak artwork design and packaging for this release ... why? ... Graham liked all of Steven's proposed paintings for the album ... so Steven decided we should feature them all ... on a heavy board in full gloss, on a matte background.

NZ: AGGRESSIONS (LTD EP) $14.99

"Aggressions" is NZ's second release, and continues the success of their debut EP "Raw and Pure" in terms of quality and production, with the band offering new evolutions in music and style. "Aggressions" is following its literal meaning, it equals a punch in your face. Provocation is imminent. Seething with anger, the tracks prove to be critical and private.

"No Time to stay" - no chance to remain still… a constant need to move, uncompromising sound, aggressive vocals, and smashing drums à la NZ keep pushing you forward and hit you with a proper dose of body music. NZ are all but demure. Irate and belligerent they come with "AGGRESSIONS" to attack the dance floor another time.

Parzival: CASTA $14.99

The neofolk/neoclassical act PARZIVAL from Copenhagen, Denmark delivers a theatrical, cinematic and bombastic new album, in a so far unheard mixture of neoclassical, martial, neofolk, gothic, darkwave and Wagnerian art!

On the new album Casta, PARZIVAL have collaborated with several indian sikh folk musicians, which have given the album a big touch of Asian mystique. Furthermore the lyrics are in 4 different languages: Russian, German, Latin and Sanskrit.

After several line up changes throughout the years, the line up now consists of Dimitrij Bablevskij (vocals, programming), Oleg Naumov (drums, percussion), Michael Hedelain (drums, percussion), Tim Ellegaard (bass, also known from Of The Wand & The Moon) and Jens Hansen (keyboards, also known from Blazing Eternity).

Released August 2014 on Mighty Music.

Phasenmensch: ENTSCHLEUNIGUNGSPROZESSE (VERNUNFT UND LEIDENSCHAFT) $19.99

Musically, “Entschleunigungsprozesse” is an impressively mature, antithetic work: Full of emotional atmospheres, yet strict in composition, decidedly rhythmic, yet avoiding any harshness, highly melancholic, yet fuelled by positivity – a gentle and thoughtful piece of electronic music.

For starters, “Vernunft und Leidenschaft” will set the mood with its gloomy intro, breaking into uplifting minimal rhythms. Everything appears integrally connected, from the quiet sophistication of “Alles verschwindet”, “Sommerregen” or “Vom Nein zum Ja” over the technoid leanings of the collaborative tracks with with Constructor and IC D-10 to the more industrial beats of “Heilige Momente” or “Funkenflug”.

No less than three tracks feature Wolfram’s good friend Ophelia the Suffering, adding guitar and sounds to the brooding “Rost und Knochen”, as well as adding some rhythmic distortion to “Optimierte Gegenwart” as Ecstasphere and remixing “Vernunft und Leidenschaft” as Aphexia, adding aggrieved string sounds. The last word goes to HANDS label mate Hezzel, using gently distorted bass drones for his remix.

The 73 minutes of “Entschleunigungsprozesse” are a meaningful timeout as well as a much recommended electronic music album – reason and passion in an unknown alliance!

Released November 2014 on Hands.

Project Pitchfork: BLOOD $19.99

What is left to say about PROJECT PITCHFORK? About a band responsible for an entire genre and hordes of epigones and that yet was never willing to give up the throne? Is not the sheer mass of classic anthems that already lure the second generation of Dark Electro disciples onto the dancefloors worth more than that? Is not an anecdote like the one of PROJECT PITCHFORK having taken – years ago – a certain band called RAMMSTEIN as their tour support weighing more than every single word?

Well, perhaps there is something left to say after all. This, however, is only due to the fact that PETER SPILLES never tires of reinventing himself, his project and his sound, never stops to reflect his art and never gives in the temptation to rest on his laurels. Transferring this abstract drivel into music is once again done with „Blood“. No call to arms, no tiresome exaggeration of ridiculous extremes. No, „Blood“ is nothing short of a hardened proof that every revolution is bound to shatter on this stronghold called PROJECT PITCHFORK – and this even holds true after more than 20 years.

We have blood on our hands. Nothing new in times like these, one might day, and yet insistently brought to the surface with „Blood“. The equally simple and effective title is the recurring theme on this record and at the same time prefix of each and every song title. The tracks are called „Moon“, „Loss“ or „Money“, pretty ordinary words on their own account, that only show their full meaning when joined with the album title. Blood as currency, blood as the dominant factor result in a bloody march against injustice, war and oppression, in an electronic catalyst for more self-determination.

„Blood“ is much more than just another record from a well-oiled machinery. Dark, menacing, driving and anthemic like so often before, PROJECT PITCHFORK manage to deliver the next surprise after „BLACK“: An interlocked, carefully thought-through and infernally powerful album that will cause one thing on the dancefloor above all others: bloody feet.

Raison D'etre: REQUIEM FOR ABANDONED SOULS (Expanded 2CD) $19.99

The expanded edition of 'Requiem for Abandoned Souls' contains the original disc with a bonus track and a second disc with material from various live performances from 2003 and 2004. As with the original release (Cold Meat Industry 2003) the artwork consists of images of abandoned places photographed by Henk van Rensbergen, but instead of being presented with five different layouts all the original images are included in the one and only layout. 'Requiem for Abandoned Souls' is a kind of climax, a career peak that all previous albums pointed up to, where the music sets a perfect backdrop for the theme as spelled out by the album title. The key to understanding Andersson's vision for this album lies in the track titles; read separately, or taken together as a poem. The toll of a church bell escorts the listener on an existential voyage through the world according to Raison d'être, a bleak place populated by shadowy souls abandoned of all hope. But don't let that scare you away, because this remarkably beautiful collection of songs is a true remedy in this age of chaos; when the outside withers away, the inside fills with emptiness, and there's nothing left to believe in.As with the paths previously forged, sacral and arcane religious undertones permeate all aspects of the music. Awash with reverberating drones, metallic nuisances, discordant chimes, haunting chorals and sub- orchestral movements, the forlorn atmospheres unfold over the expanse of the tracks.

Raison D'etre: FEASTING IN VALHALLA $14.99

Recorded live at the Valhalla Festival in Hallarna, Norrkoping, Sweden on the 19th of April 2014. Packaged in a 4-panel gatefold cover. Released for the North American tour in 2014.

Released October 2014 on Yantra Atmospheres.

Rasputeen: ZURUCK AUS DER KYROKAMMER $14.99

after spending four years in a cyrogenic chamber, the mysterious performer and composer rasputeen came back to the outside world turning his very own points of view into sound and lyrics. it took bazooka joe six months to publish these recordings, and as with each of this artist's releases, it was worth the wait! 'zurück aus der kyrokammer' presents rasputeen’s most diverse body of work so far, which stylistically ranges from eighties-influenced minimal electro pop, easy listening and technoid electro to harsh rhythmic industrial and abrasive noise. even within the tracks then normal musical boundaries do not exist, f.e. you can hear funky horn riffs embedded in an aggressive industrial tune. the german lyrics on all fourteen tracks mix up topics like consumption, relationships and social criticism with a vexing lot of surrealism, which has been rasputeen's trademark since the beginning. whether you use this album for cogitation, abreaction, or pleasure - join rasputeen's unrivaled multiverse and welcome him back from the cold!

Released November 2014 on Bazooka Joe.

Richard H Kirk: MANY DIMENSIONS OF RICHARD H. KIRK 3CD BOX $31.99

This collection of recordings by Richard H Kirk is now released as a 3xCD box set by Die Stadt, in association with and under license from Intone. The box set contains the three albums for the first time on CD: Richard H Kirk's Reality Is Opposite (guitars, breakbeats, electronics and digital interference in the sound of insurrection), Orchestra Terrestrial's Umladen classical analogue mood music) and Richard H Kirk And The Arpeggio 13's Anonymized (minimalist analogue arpeggio workouts). All three albums were recorded between October 2010 and December 2011 and were strongly influenced by certain events happening in the UK and across the globe (with an ear and an eye to the news media) as cities around the world were in turmoil. Starting with student unrest in London in November 2010, the Arab Spring in December of 2010 and full on rioting later in London again in August 2011 after police shot and killed an unarmed man. The streets were on fire again and it seems they continue to burn as pockets of unrest erupt globally. Richard H Kirk is a co-founder and now sole member of electronic music pioneers Cabaret Voltaire and in 2013 he celebrated 40 years as an audio/visual artist.

Roberto Donati: CANNIBAL FEROX O.S.T. LP $27.99

This is the original motion picture soundtrack to Umberto Lenzi's 1981 jungle shocker CANNIBAL FEROX aka MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY, composed & performed by ROBERTO DONATI aka BUDY MAGLIONE.

This LP features four extra bonus tracks not included in the original score. Comes with extensive and exclusive liner notes from: ROBERTO DONATI (AKA Budy Maglione), GIOVANNI LOMBARDO RADICE (The House On The Edge Of The Park, City Of The Living Dead, The Church), DANILO MATTEI (Ironmaster, The Sicilian, Mark Of The Scorpion), ROBERT KERMAN (Eaten Alive, Cannibal Holocaust, Debby Does Dallas, Spiderman), STEPHEN ROMANO (Author, Screenwriter, Illustrator) & ZORA KEROVA (Anthropophagus, The New York Ripper, The New Barbarians).

Roberto Donati Bio-
Maestro Roberto Donati was born and raised in Italy in the glorious sixties. As a guitarist/singer he ended up forming a wide variety of bands playing a broad spectrum of musical genres like Rock, Pop, R&B and Country & Western. Many of his songs were recorded as singles on the Belldisc label in the late sixties and seventies.

With all this experience under his belt Mr. Donati then devoted himself to the composition of soundtracks. These were all recorded under the pseudonym 'Budy' and were often collaborations with Maria Fiamma Maglione (who sadly passed away from cancer in 2003) thus the name 'Budy Maglione' was born.

Working with different directors (including legendary director Umberto Lenzi) he has written music for films in various genres including Italian comedy, erotic, western & horror. Highlights include APACHE WOMAN & ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON (1976), EMANUELLE e LOLITA (1978), EATEN ALIVE (1980), CANNIBAL FEROX (1981) and DAUGHTER OF THE JUNGLE (1982).

These compositions made him an established player in the Italian soundtrack scene, for which he received international praise, just like his contemporaries FABIO FRIZZI, RIZ ORTOLANI, and others.

The most fame he received was probably for his soundtrack to Umberto Lenzi's exploitation shocker CANNIBAL FEROX (better known in the States as MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY) a notorious video nasty, labeled as ''The Most Violent movie ever made'', that was banned or severely cut in 31 countries.

Cannibal Ferox is often described as one of horror filmdom's golden grails of soundtrack albums and holds its place between other contemporary classics like Cannibal Holocaust, The Beyond, Zombi 2, and others. Praised by composers and directors all over the world, Eli Roth described it as ''powerful tribal, pounding stuff'' and served as an inspiration when editing his new movie The Green Inferno (which is an homage to the Cannibal film genre).

Like many of the Italian cannibal films, the soundtrack is just as powerful and effective as the disturbing butchery. The use of funk guitar, bass, rock piano and synthesizer makes for a fun yet still powerful sound. It's 70s recklessness with an 80s sensibility, perfect for a film that rides the line between two decades. Surprisingly funky and light-hearted, then again: there are cues which are genuinely mean and foreboding, serving as an essential piece that makes the film a pulse-pounding inferno of death.

One Way Static Records is now proud to announce the release of this historical motion picture soundtrack on vinyl, packaged in a deluxe edition with extensive liner notes. Also included are several bonus tracks making this effort the most complete and accurate presentation of the soundtrack to date.

Salt: DAS KONSTRUKT Fine Art Print Boxset $39.99

a collection of 47 black & white fine art prints. 195mm x 195mm. box set edition. open up the view of your surroundings and the details and composition of the landscape will reveal themselves to you. it’s made up of two aspects: the naturally grown, and the artificially constructed, the man-made. both are equally important, never forgetting that nature is more than plants by man’s hand - a construct of twigs and branches, of shards, of the flapping of wings, of wire rope. a plethora of optical illusions lies undiscovered, if only one would take his time… stefan alt (aka salt) intends to help us taking that journey of discovery. with his collection he has captured fleeting moments, brought beauty out of obscurity and viewed the world from surprising angles. all those details share a common denominator: the format - thus dimensions are put into the background. or is uniformity the main aspect of work - reducing heavyweight cranes to toy-size and at the same time letting a flower-bud assail the heavens. anyway, there are all those details waiting to be discovered that we normally just pass by and overlook, proving that reality is a construct of consciousness. stefan alt lets us access the manifold construct of nature and shows us a rare view of landscape in his photographs. the artist attaches importance to the individual experience of his work, in a truly constructivist sense. the viewers should select their focal points, take out pictures, put them into a frame - and replace them when desired. the meaning is given by individual selection and what strikes the eye..

Released November 2014 on Ant-Zen.

Scooter: FIFTH CHAPTER, THE (2CD BOX) $29.99

2CD Box version including the "Scooter Shout Box".

Sektor 304/Dissecting Table: UTOPIA/DECAY LP $18.99

A follow up to 2012’s split CDr on UPD Organization brings these projects together once again, this time for a limited split 12”. Dissecting Table (aka Ichiro Tsuji) is one of the most iconic names in the history of industrial music, and has been pushing the envelope in extreme music as far back as 1986. Early material was completely groundbreaking… over the top, maniacal drumming, dirty bass, and guttural vocals that was like grindcore meeting death industrial before either term even existed. Their influence was undeniable, and can still be felt today, even as recently as Sektor 304’s previous release, the “Engage…Forward” 7”. Newer Dissecting Table material has moved into a more psychedelic, fully chromatic and glitched out area, but the tracks here bridge the gap between the two eras, mixing a veritable mine field of percussion and metal bashing with spastic electronic mis-wirings and crazed oscillations. For those unfamiliar with Ichiro’s work, this is a great introduction.
The flip side gives us perhaps the most perfect collection of Sektor 304 material to date…4 tracks flowing together and carefully sculpted into a sprawling and epic display, encompassing all aspects of the their sound; pummeling sheets of tribalized junk metal percussion in the early part, to desolate decay and pure apocalyptic dystopia in the mid-section, where radioactive transmissions intersect low slung bass, and the infected vocals of Martin Bladh (IRM/Skin Area). The final piece, Power and Strength, is one of most ominous and oppressive tracks they've ever done…a slow, shambling dirge of looping, mechanized percussion, industrial drone and resonating steel mill din with an almost Karjalan Sissit style rigidity. It’s a monster of a track and the perfect closing statement from a band that continues to grow and mature into something truly astounding.
Lmtd to 200 copies, this is a must for all appreciators of the tried and true old school sound.

Skin Area/Jarl: LA PETITE MORT LP $25.99

Collaborative 12" LP from Martin Bladh and Magnus Lindh (Skin Area/IRM) and Erik Jarl (Jarl/IRM). Surreal, abstract atmospheres alternating between delicate and cerebral to more unsettling and wrought with tension. Symptomatic of instability, affliction, and slow decay, with the instantly recognizable vocals of Martin Bladh navigating through a strewn field of hallucinatory noises, resonant tones & textures, and probing drones. Lmtd 220 copies with 13 individual pages of full color prints designed and written by Martin Bladh..

Skinny Puppy: MYTHMAKER LP $18.99

After the release of 2004’s Greater Wrong Of The Right (previously reissued by Metropolis Records), Skinny Puppy returned in 2007 with Mythmaker, which was hailed by some as the band’s most ambitious record of the time. As dark, beautiful, and angry as always, Mythmaker takes the listener on a roller coaster ride through Ogre &cEvin’s twisted musical worlds. From the atmospheric "Haze", the stomping "Pedafly", the experimental "Politikil" and "Ambiantz," to the uptempoed closer "Ugli," the group gets ever darker.

Skinny Puppy: MYTHMAKER Reissue $13.49

Skorneg: FOEHN $9.99

Collaborative effort between Frédéric Arbour of famed dark ambient label Cyclic Law and his solo project Visions, and Montreal based ambient/experimental project, Skinwell. Conceptually it oscillates around the northern elements of Glaciers, Winds and the exploration of such rugged territories, both physically, intellectually and spiritually. Musically, it brings us 4 tracks of massively scaled power drones, barren ambience, and black hole atmospherics, each piece starting in a more minimal fashion, then slowing escalating into a hypnotic spectrum of melting drift, ascending and descending tones, and
undercurrents of distant industrial churn. Only time will tell if this is a one off project, but for now, drone enthusiasts and dark ambient purists can unite and revel in this fantastic offering. 4 panel digipak, lmtd 500 copies..

Stella Nova: CAMMINI MEDIEVALI $19.99

"Stella Nova” is an ensemble of passionate musicians moved by a common interest in ancient culture and music. Inspired by the work of the foremost Italian and foreign medieval music groups - those who stay true to historical medieval music through extensive research of paleographical, Iconographical and organological sources – “Stella Nova” musicians want to contribute to the rediscovery of medieval music and to the spirit with which to make this music today. “Stella Nova” transmits the medieval era with interpretive fidelity and uses accurate reconstructions of period instruments often obtained on the basis of precise iconographic references.

‘Cammini Medievali’ (Medieval paths) takes the listener on an ideal musical journey through medieval Europe which starts out from Spain, passes through France, and then arrives in Italy with songs that are significant from the musical repertoire of the period. Though the “Middle Ages” covers a very wide time span (from about 1000 a.d. to 1400 a.d.), only a small part of the musical production from the period has been passed down to us today and often it has been transmitted only orally.

The music in “Medieval paths” is both sacred and secular. The songs are taken from manuscripts, collections and codes that have fortunately been preserved over time and handed down to us. The instruments used by Stella Nova are accurate reconstructions of period instruments, taken from drawings found in medieval manuscripts, and in bas-reliefs, frescoes and iconography.
Released June 2014 on In The Morningside.

Swans: BURNING WORLD LP $25.99

The Burning World is an excellent curio in Swans already eclectic discography. 1987 s Children of God confirmed that Swans could indulge delicacy alongside immersive swathes of sound. In 1989, band leader Michael Gira co-produced The Burning World alongside multi-instrumentalist Bill Laswell and continued to refine his songwriting without compromising power. Jarboe s inimitable vocal presence enhances the overall tunefulness while Gira s own weary-but-resilient declamations ascend to towering intensity at precisely the right moments. All throughout, Gira rages against God for the sake of love, lifting the veil off darkness to reveal exaltation. (She s a) Universal Emptiness finds Gira s signature croon perfectly belied by Jarboe s harmony, but the sauntering balladry is spiked with assaultive snare drum and a rogue chord on the verge of feeling saccharine. Jane Mary, Cry One Tear sends Gira s voice to seemingly impossible depths. The slight quiver and momentary roll of the tongue that marks his style is on full display, as if the merest detail of his evocative delivery is toiled over in advance. It begins with the minimal guide of an acoustic guitar and builds to ardent fury, all the while honoring the intricate minutiae in his voice. The Burning World resolves Swans mournful rock sensibility with some of the most pure hooks Gira ever sang over, but his indelible assets as a singular songwriter are wholly intact and unmistakable.

Swans: MY FATHER WILL GUIDE ME UP A ROPE TO THE SKY LP $20.99

2010 album from the veteran Alt-Rock outfit. After years of pursuing a lightly different path with his band Angels Of Light and recording and producing a diverse roster of artists for his Young God label, Michael Gira has reconvened his legendary group Swans. As he says: ''This is not a reunion. It's not some dumb-ass nostalgia act. It is not repeating the past. After five Angels Of Light albums, I need a way to move forward, in a new direction, and it just so happens that revivifying the
idea of Swans allows me to do that.''

Syntech: ONLY RUINS REMAIN $19.99

With its fourth album, SYNTECH (now working as a duo) follow the tradition of never sounding the same twice, yet always retaining the core element of the Syntech sound, the tribal rhythm. “Only Ruins Remain” is by comparison the most gentle and introvert release yet, offering atmospheric downbeat tracks next to the club-compatible ones that are of course still to be found. Musically refined and with a warm and organic sound, “Only Ruins Remain” echoes the rhythm of the ritual and adds another attractive progression to the Syntech discography. Having long emancipated Syntech from the Greyhound sound, this is a bold step into a territory of its own, music in the grey area between genres and styles, yet irresistibly emotive and appealing, music to find comfort in when only ruins remain.

Released November 2014 on Hands.

Syntech: ONLY RUINS REMAIN (LTD 2CD) $26.99

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of SYNTECH’s creation, HANDS releases a limited edition lavish oversize package containing the „Only Ruins Remain“ album plus the album “Decade” with 14 remixes by associates and friends. From well-known acts such as TOTAKEKE, DIRK GEIGER and PHILIPP MUENCH over favored newcomers like MORTAJA, DIRTY K and ECSTASPHERE to more obscure acts, this covers a wide range of styles from rough rhythm’n’noise over IDM, EBM and ritual ambient. A great tribute to diversity and friendship! A manifold display of talent, a dazzling array of electronic sounds and an appropriate birthday present to SYNTECH!

Released November 2014 on Hands.

Teeth Engraved: STARVING THE FIRES (PT.1) $9.99

Formal debut of this Portland, Oregon duo signifies not only a new addition to the Malignant family, but a vital entry into the death industrial field. Using a broad array of hand-made or modified instrumentation and layered processing, Teeth Engraved have crafted one of the more despondent and grime encrusted releases to populate the roster; Frayed, noxious frequencies, crumbling static, and corrosive drones that teeter on the edge of abrasiveness mixed with a rotting underbelly of cluttered, industrial churn, falling somewhere between the smoldering scourge of Gruntsplatter and the dread filled, post-mortem atmospherics of Anenzephalia. The corresponding result is 7 lengthy tracks that thrive on abandonment, hopelessness, and negativity in a desolate, post-apocalyptic environment. Run time: 70:69, lmtd. 500, DVD packaging, mastered by John Stillings of Steel Hook Audio.

Terra Sancta: EXILE $11.99

6 years have passed since the last full length Terra Sancta release, and time has treated Australia’s preeminent dark ambient export well. Exile finds Greg Good revisiting some of the more orchestral elements that made up his Malignant debut, Aeon, but wrapping them up in the sweeping, sand blasted drones and windswept textures that defined the latter releases, Disintegration and the 2011’s CDEP, Sunken|Buried|Forgotten. The interplay is perfectly conceptualized and executed…immense, lightless ambience with piercing slivers of beauty and serenity breaking through dense clouds of swirling dust and monoliths of blackened synth hum. What has stayed constant is the massive scale in which Terra Sancta operates. This is at once majestic and panoramic, yet desolate and abyssal, drifting in varied and continuous shades of desert and earthen colors, the track titles revealing the nature of the sounds: Empire of Ashes..., ...Kingdom of Dust, Celestial Extinction (featuring Rasalhague), The Desolate Land, Descent II, Vanishing Point, End Path. In beautiful 6 panel eco-wallet designed by Kerry Braud (Rasalhague/Maculatum).

Theologian & STROM.ec: HUBRIZINE $9.99

Proper and overdue re-issue of a limited edition 12cassette on Annihilvs released back in 2012. Hubrizine was two years in the making and features source material by Finland's mighty STROM.ec, undoubtedly heralded as masters of the PE oeuvre, as reinterpreted and re-engineered by Theologian, in celebration of a shared appreciation for the works of Philip K. Dick. From the opening moments, what immediately strikes you is that this probably isn't what you thought it was going to be, given the history of both acts.Sure, there are a good deal of passages of volatility and focused intensity as you might expect, but they are complimented by an equal amount of passages of hallucinatory ambience and cold, serene atmospherics. It's this very dichotomy that makes this such a masterful recording, and listening to it one sitting becomes almost mandatory just to wrap your head around the mind fuckery that unravels over its 7 tracks, as celestial drift and horizon filling textures collide with sudden eruptions of militantly hostile vocals, machine clatter, blistering frequency pulsations andwrithing distortion. The title track is clearly the centerpiece here...an epic and sprawling 18 minute track of climatic and shimmering drones that disintegrates into corrosive generator hum and contorted loops with an insane vocal outburst that rivals any STROM.ec output ever created. Hubrizine clearly takes heavy electronics in a direction where few have dared go, and few will ever match. In fold out presentation folder with artwork by Andre Coelho(Sektor 304).

Throbbing Gristle: 20 JAZZ FUNK GREATS LP Reissue $24.99

Originally released in 1979, 20 Jazz Funk Greats is Throbbing Gristle's pop-influenced masterwork. It's hard to believe the beautiful, conventionally-attractive Cosey Fanni Tutti on this album's front cover previously gave herself milk and blood enemas in front of a live audience. Additionally, the song "Hot On The Heels Of Love" is far removed from the dissonant nihilism of the previous TG albums. It's a sleek, minimal synth-pop song that foreshadows Tutti's later work as Chris & Cosey. Still, 20 Jazz Funk Greats is underpinned by a profound distance from accessibility. The breezy luminosity of "Persuasion" and "Six Six Sixties" is still marked with casual bits of distortion and absurdism. Preceding dark synth-pop (and everything else), TG's third album is far ahead of its time and still sounds as relevant as ever. The newly cut 180-gram vinyl editions include painstakingly restored cover artworks, using original source material from the Industrial Records visual archive. In addition, each of the vinyl releases includes an exclusive large format 8-page color booklet featuring an abundance of Throbbing Gristle archival material, including some previously-unpublished photos of the band.

Throbbing Gristle: D.O.A THIRD ANNUAL REPORT LP Reissue $24.99

Throbbing Gristle's second full-length, originally released in 1978, captures alienation in its purest form. The line-up of Chris Carter, Peter Christopherson, Genesis P-Orridge and Cosey Fanni Tutti was a vehicle for everything bizarre, extreme and controversial. From the ravaged live track "Blood On The Floor" to the hostile phone recording on "Death Threats," TG lobotomized convention, whether musical or ideological. The lingering "Hamburger Lady" pulses with a story of a burn victim, and the band's restraint and careful composition makes it one of their best creations of all time, something absolutely terrifying. Full of tape-manipulation, computer noise and feedback, D.O.A epitomizes Throbbing Gristle's unparalleled anti-music, cementing their status as "wreckers of civilization." The newly cut 180-gram vinyl editions include painstakingly restored cover artworks, using original source material from the Industrial Records visual archive. In addition, each of the vinyl releases includes an exclusive large format 8-page color booklet featuring an abundance of Throbbing Gristle archival material, including some previously-unpublished photos of the band.

Throbbing Gristle: SECOND ANNUAL REPORT LP Reissue $24.99

The newly cut 180-gram vinyl editions include painstakingly restored cover artworks, using original source material from the Industrial Records visual archive. Includes an exclusive large format 8-page color booklet featuring an abundance of Throbbing Gristle archival material, including some previously-unpublished photos of the band. Originally released in 1977, TG's Second Annual Report features various recordings of "Slug Bait" and "Maggot Death," plus the 20-minute soundtrack to After Cease To Exist, a short film featuring a castration sequence. A scathing debut from these avant-garde legends.

Tonikom: SEEKING THE LOST MIND $14.99

with 'seeking the lost mind' rachel maloney a.k.a. tonikom emerges again, presenting a delightful, personal collection of aural explorations of her inner self and covering a wide range of electronic music of its very own. this album is a perfect, self-contained blend of idm, breakbeat and ambient dub including occasional sidesteps into conterminal territories like trance-influenced techno, complementing the core structure of tonikom. soulful, breathing abstract pads interwoven with lovely harmonies carried by constant beats with interlaced syncopated percussion programming add up to melancholic, but also hopeful, dreamy vibes. 'seeking the lost mind' is an outstanding release, pleasantly melodic and enthralling at the same time, whereat a subliminal variety of hidden treasures and shallows unfold after repeated and intense listening.

Totakeke: ME.TEM.PSY.CHO.SIS $19.99

New York-based Frank Mokros has already had a number of releases on HANDS, as four well-received albums under his electro industrial guise SYNTH-ETIK, also with his technoid project ATIV, now he (re-)joins for his sixth TOTAKEKE album. Under this moniker he has made himself a name for diligent sound design and deep electronica. Instead of sonic dabbling, he produces tight and poignant tracks. With “Me.Tem.Psy.Cho.Sis” he has created a very topical electronica album, with plenty of atmospheric moments, also successfully integrating the rhythmic impact of his past projects, the result being quite upfront – IDM with balls.

The general sound of Me.Tem.Psy.Cho.Sis is very progressive and unique, blending all elements into a coherent flow with the album’s storyline – highly enjoyable 70 mins for electronic gourmets!

Released November 2014 on Hands.

U-731: BY ALL MEANS... $9.99

Simultaneously the debut and swan song for this California based project of Gordon Lazarus, known previously for his work as Defiler and soon to be United Front. For "By All Means...", we find him continuing the path laid down by his previous project, only upping the paranoia and abject sense of hopelessness and negativity. Make no bones about it, this is a bleak release, and it’s no surprise he’s employed the services of like-minded roster mates John Stillings of Steel Hook Prostheses and Andy Grant of The Vomit Arsonist. The sound is not all that dissimilar to either act, only this seems to slow everything down to an even more morose level (if that’s possible), where distortion drenched waves of morbid frequencies waft underneath layers of gristle and murky atmospheres. Drowsy, lethargic voices and samples drift in and out of the mix, gaining momentum as it segues into more demented and antagonistic realms, the intensity ratcheted up as the tones become more sinister and agitated. Near the end, as Grant makes his appearance in both F.E.M.A. Care and By All Means, this reaches a near boiling point, before ending in the final moments of Suo Gan/Last Rights, where an angelic chorus is offset by the resonating sounds of explosives and deep reverberations. In 4 panel digipak, mastered by Steel Hook Audio and designed by Mories/Gnaw Their Tongues. Lmtd 500 copies.

Various Artists: Epicurean Escapism I (CD & DVD) (PAL Format) $23.99

epicurean escapism I compilation cd + martin bladh dvd 'video works' + a 24-page catalogue with essay & art works by martin bladh. right on time for the third epicurean escapism festival, the epicurean & silken tofu release another compilation, which is not a mere reissue of the previous epicurean escapism I tape/dvdr set released in 2012, but comes with new & exclusive tracks by irm, krank, jarl as well as a collaboration track by human larvae & anemone tube. apart from this, the set includes a dvd with collected video works by irm mastermind martin bladh and a 24-page catalog with essays and artwork by the same artist. swedish industrial trio irm provide an episodic track constructed with elements from 'indications of nigredo', 'order4' and their new album 'closure' unified into a new, holistic composition, which contrasts aggressive noise segments with the illusionary moments of almost folkish lavishness. the track by john murphy's lately revived project krank is a dark collage of fragmented noise, acoustic samples and female vocals all intermingled in a vortex of sonic chaos. irm member jarl contributes a subtle piece of circulating drone sound, whose tranquil surface makes the half hidden harshness beneath even more audible. anemone tube and human larvae contribute a quite lucid piece that perfectly combines the qualities of both projects - the knock-on effect of anemone tube's flow of sounds melts with the heaviness of human larvae's doomlike industrial. the 92 minute dvd by martin bladh includes his earliest short film 'pig and tomboy' (2005), the epic pentalogy 'cycle' (2006) and the conceptual installation video 'des' (2009) among others. all the films present unvarnished set pieces of the human body subjected to subtly implied violence within claustrophobic spaces, where the camera itself, the voyeuristic eye, is the only free player. the accompanying art catalog includes collages and polaroids, several short essays by bladh as well as an introduction text by carl abrahamsson. dvd format: region free pal. limited edition: 350 copies. packaging: luxurious 6 panel 21 x 15 cm folder, 24-page catalog, printed on matt image paper with dispersion varnish and packaged in a transparent, resealable bag.

Various Artists: Japanese Electro Punk Brutality $13.49

Japanese Brutality: 25 tracks, 75 Minutes of the best in Japanese Electro Punk! This album is assembled by cEvin Key, who says “These are some of the hardest bands I've ever witnessed in my 15 shows and 10 trips to JAPAN over the past 6 years. Playing with these guys was a challenge, as they made the words "New Punk", very relevant to me. Something is missing in the worlds view of Punk. Not with these guys. They live the way I remember punk being. Street level, honest, simple and aggressive. The album is set up like a mini gig, 3 bands and one loud PA. Play it loud!

Velvet Acid Christ: SUBCONSCIOUS LANDSCAPES $13.49

Densely layered, complex and atmospheric, Subconscious Landscapes sees Velvet Acid Christ pushing the boundaries further than ever. The act’s 16th studio album, the new record calls on influences in the ranges of Juno Reactor, Massive Attack, and Delerium. This album can be considered a natural progression from the hypnotic grooves of past VAC songs such as “Slut”. “Dilauded”, & “Ghost In The Circuit”. Subconscious Landscapes seems to flow between two halves of an album, with the first four songs being highlighted by guest vocals from Sabine Theroni of Psykkle on “Barbed Wire Garden” and “Taste the Sin”, as well as Malgorzata Wacht on vocals for “Grey”. The second half, entitled “Mauvais” on side B of the vinyl version, takes a decidedly darker turn of sound. The new album also marks the first vinyl release for Velvet Acid Christ.

Winterkalte: MASCHINENFEST TRACKS 1999-2014 2LP & CD $44.99

According to the concept this is not a “Best Of”, but a collection of concisely physical tracks with the club firmly in focus. Eight studio tracks, five of which have never been available in this or any other version on a Winterkälte release, enframed by two live cuts, the total ten tracks covering no less than 15 years of Winterkälte’s trademark, genre-defining drum’n’noise sound.

The two heavy-weight LPs come in a special high quality foldout cover including the CD version of the album as well as 4 art prints and a sticker. Founded in 1991, their highly dynamic live shows with electronics by Udo Wiessmann and electronic drumming by Eric de Vries have become the other cornerstone, next to the studio work. The fascination of Winterkälte live performances has proven during many shows in Europe, North America and Asia. Among those, Maschinenfest shows have always been a special highlight.

This compilation reveals an astonishing continuity, from the first track “Warm up”, very early Winterkälte which was recorded live from mixing desk in 1997 on the “pre-Maschinenfest” event “Musik in Elektrisch” to the live cut “Deep Sea Defenders” from 2012, a quality microphone recording complete with the sounds of the stirred crowd. The other contributions are quite manifold: Half of the tracks here can’t be found on any other release in any version. Furthermore, you will find a very early, primal version of “Greenwar Theme One”;, the alternative “Cetraro” version of “Toxic Ships” and the original rough mix of the band’s considerable dance floor hit “Ban Depleted Uranium Weapons”.

Enjoy the propelling time travel through Winterkälte’s drum’n’noise from past to present!

Young Gods, The: SECOND NATURE Picture LP $34.99

This is the Reissue of one of the Best Album of industrial Rock band Young Gods. (For long time out of Print) Back in their hometown in 99, the pioneers of sampling started to build their own studio and locked themselves in to work on new songs, a long and awaited process of creation that as usual will be as unique as the fusion of three free electrons. Today, with the electronic overdose, the out of focus rock world and the multicultural melting pot, the young gods return with one of their most unanticipated and strong albums to date, "second nature" (produced by the band itself), an unclassifiable flow of digital and organic emotion showing the band at their highest energy level, pure and simple. Through such strong tracks as "lucidogen" (the first single), "attends", the mindblowing "supersonic" or "the sound in your eyes" and astral journeys as "in the otherland", and "toi du monde", the young gods have proven their relevance and their will to push the wall of sounds, forward. Tomorrow will be another rebirth for the gods.

Released October 2014 on Rustblade.

Zero Degree: STASIS $14.99

zero degree's seventh release 'stasis' presents this project's lineup as one person, just as it started ten years ago, and delivers a slight and consistent directional change when compared to its predecessors 'probe' and 'transit'. to generate the relaxing and sensual feel zero degree is well-known for, krautrock-influenced ambiance has made room for elements of downtempo and psybient, offering new facets of matthias erhard's aural cosmos. also an appreciable factor of this album is the significant amping up of production skills and an intensified focus on analogue synth equipment. throughout the seven tracks the listener is carried by mighty basslines, drifting percussion, precisely sequenced patterns and veiled atmospheres. a slow beat accented base and atmospheric ambient pads, filtered and reworked with effects and carefully inserted samples achieve a hypnotic and particular post-psychedelic pulse. 'stasis' is a perfect combination of percussive ambient and subtle electronics - an album of a spacey, deep quality which combines tranquility with motion and purpose. turn it on, and motivate your brainwaves.

Released November 2014 on Ant-Zen.
